Goldsmith Machines
cannot replace the abilities of a goldsmith because he or she needs
craftsmanship for this job. Machines cannot replace human fine feeling. The
requirements for this job are: at least a
“Hauptschulabschluss” (certificate of completion of
compulsory basic secondary schooling), a good sense of touch and
craftsmanship. You can
choose between three subject areas. The subject area jewellery mainly
deals with pins, necklaces and bracelets. The subject area juwel mainly
deals with the processing of classical jewellery with precious stones of
high quality like diamonds,
emeralds and rubies. In the subject area chains goldsmiths produce
pieces of jewellery, bands and wickerwork. The period
of training is three and a half years. Of course, it is not necessary to
take the training in Germany since jewellery is demanded everywhere in
the world. Katharina Chon, Eisenberg, 15 years |
